One UI 7.1 in the works: Here’s when Samsung could release

Are you waiting for One UI 6.1.1 or One UI 7 Beta? Samsung is set to release these updates soon for Galaxy devices. In addition, Samsung has reportedly started developing next year’s One UI iteration – One UI 7.1. This version will be introduced with the Galaxy S25 series.
According to the information via tipster @theonecid, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phone has been spotted with One UI 7.1 firmware on the testing server. It can be identified through firmware S938USQU0AXH4. The testing is going on for locked models of the Galaxy S25 series in the US.
This firmware indicates that Samsung is developing its year 2025 software update, One UI 7.1. However, the One UI 6.1.1 rollout and One UI 7 Beta update are still pending for its Galaxy devices.
One UI 7.1 update will arrive with the new Galaxy S25 series early next year, and the first version of this update has already been spotted. It will be based on Android 15 and will bring new features powered by advanced AI technology.
Samsung usually adds new and improved features with its One UI x.1 updates, and One UI 7.1 will likely continue this trend. This update is also expected to add additional features while One UI 7 focuses on animation and system fluency.
Like other One UI x.1, One UI 7.1 is expected to debut in January 2025. Its rollout to expected to start for other models in February 2025. It will bring a new feature, mainly based on Galaxy AI.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 Beta users receive Stable One UI 7 update in India

After the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung has pushed the One UI 7 Stable update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphone in India. This update ends the One UI 7 Beta Program for the smartphone in India. The company will expand this update to more countries soon.
One UI 7 stable update for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 can be identified via One UI build version F741BXXU2BYD9 in India. The update is currently live for Galaxy Z Flip 6 users testing One UI 7 Beta, and the company will soon make it available for all models.
The switch from the Beta to the stable version makes your device more secure and stable. As the beta program has concluded, users will no longer receive new beta software or official responses to their feedback.

Samsung Galaxy S26 could launch with One UI 8.5, not One UI 8.0 [Rumor]

Samsung is rumored to be planning to launch the Galaxy S26 series with One UI 8.5. Samsung’s Android 16-based One UI 8.0 is already in the rumor mill, to be debuted with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 around July this year.
One UI 8.5 could come with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series next year, as per TarunVats. It’s a wild rumor that was fueled by claims that codes related to One UI 8.0 and One UI 8.5 were found in Samsung’s system components.
That said, the One UI 8.0 may not be a major upgrade, but it will focus on bringing the new OS to Galaxy devices. This way, Samsung would get enough time to develop and test design changes and new features until early next year.
One UI 2.5 was the last x.5 version
Debuted with Galaxy Note 20 series, One UI 2.5 was Samsung’s last x.5 software version. It was replaced with x.1.1 and followed till the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
Samsung is apparently considering a major One UI reveal with Android version together with Google. A mid-cycle version could come with new Galaxy S phones, bringing design and feature upgrades.
One UI 7 proved a major setback for Samsung due to a late Beta, delayed release and lazy pace of rollout, however, things may not be the same with the future One UI upgrades, starting this year.
