Samsung won’t rename Galaxy S25 Ultra to S25 Note, Plus to Pro

Samsung will neither rename Galaxy S25 Ultra to S25 Note nor S25 Plus to S25 Pro. Rumors claiming changes in Samsung’s Galaxy branding strategy floating online. It aligns with Google’s decision to market the foldable as Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

A tipster claimed that Samsung could rename the next Ultra to Note and Plus to Pro. The decision doesn’t seem to happen with the Galaxy S25 series. Rather, the S26 series might bring the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Pro, and Galaxy S26 Note.

As far as the naming strategy is concerned, Samsung couldn’t be compared with Google. Samsung is the one who is an inspiration for Google, there isn’t vice versa. The Pixel maker is fighting for market presence while Samsung dominates the world.

So, changes across flagship naming, just because Google did, doesn’t seem reasonable. The Galaxy S25 is months away and claims about the 2026 flagships shouldn’t be considered worthy. I believe Samsung won’t just change names for marketing.

There were rumors that Samsung won’t launch the Plus model in 2024. It didn’t happen, but the Galaxy S24 Plus came with upgraded hardware specifications. It shows the company is serious about all three models of its mainstream segment.

The Standard variant offers pro-grade specs in a small-size handset. Plus equips Ultra specs but ditches the S Pen and Periscope camera for affordability. Ultra is a beast, equipped with an iconic design, stylus support, and an industry-leading camera.

Citing previous rumors, the Galaxy S25 Ultra would get a major design change. Rather than angular corners, the flagship is said to adopt slightly rounded corners. The decision aligns with Samsung’s approach to make it handy and usable single-handedly.

The Galaxy S24 series was launched in January this year. The Korean tech giant has also brought the Fold/Flip event to July. It’s expected that the Galaxy S25 series could also be unveiled in January 2025.

Samsung announced its first ring-style wearable in July this year. Now, Samsung launched the Galaxy Ring in Brazil, expanding the gadget to another market. The company has also started pre-orders that last until October 18.

The Galaxy Ring is available in three color options in Brazil. The available hues include Black Titanium, Silver Titanium, and Gold Titanium – and nine size options with a suggested retail price of R$ 3,499.
