Pixel 7 Pro: Line on display disaster for Google, Samsung proven better again
Samsung Galaxy users are pretty aware of the line-on-display issue. The biggest advantage is Samsung cares better than any other OEM. Line on display developed on Pixel 7 Pro again proved that Samsung is way better than Google.
An Indian owner’s Google Pixel 7 Pro became a victim of the line-on-display problem. The device is nearly 20 months old (already out of warranty). It shows that the unwanted OLED failure is widespread and there’s no decent solution.
Back in June, Google announced an extended warranty policy, covering the Pixel 8 from OLED vertical line issue for three years. All other Pixel handsets are excluded from this special treatment leading the owner to throw the phone in the trash.
The customer contacted Google support for the quality claim. The hardware escalation team is still working on the case ID but the customer support declined the demand for evaluation and display replacement free of cost.
My Google Pixel 7 Pro just became a victim of the Pink Line on Display issue🥲
Worst ever🤕
No drop, accidental damage or water insertion🤯
Less hope Google will fix it FOC as Samsung does👀

Google community and Reddit’s subreddits are filled with similar complaints. Vertical line develops on the screen even without any drop or physical damage. There’s no other option to get the faulty display replaced by spending money from your own wallet.
At Samsung, you will get free display replacement if it’s a quality defect. The service center executive will validate your phone to check if there’s any physical or water damage. Once your phone passes, your phone’s OLED will be replaced.
Google is on the verge of announcing its Pixel 9 series in many countries. If the line on display persists, phone makers should come together and find a solution. It’s a complete waste of money if a $1000 flagship phone couldn’t function for at least two years.
We advise consumers to prefer a brand with a service center in their locality. Samsung continues to be the most trusted brand in the Android universe. Google’s gradual growth won’t gain pace if it lacks consumer satisfaction and problem address.
