Samsung August 2024 Security Patch Details Revealed
Samsung has published the details of the August 2024 security patch for its Galaxy devices. It contains CVE and SVE items to improve the security and stability of the device to provide a better and more secure experience.
The update includes patches from both Google and Samsung, addressing various vulnerabilities and exposures in the Android operating system and Samsung’s software.
The Google patches cover up to the Android Security Bulletin – August 2024 package, which contains 1 critical level and 34 high-level CVEs. However, 1 CVE resolved by previous updates from the company, and 2 is not relevant to Galaxy devices.
On the other side, the Samsung patches include 14 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, which are specific to Samsung’s devices and applications. It fixes issues related to system service, Knox services, Galaxy Watch, and more.

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users in South Korea have recently received a major One UI 6.1 (based on One UI 6.1.1) update. Though the exact dates are not clear, One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S23 series will soon be available in more countries.

One UI 6.1.1 update brings Galaxy AI’s Sketch Conversion for turning drawings into artwork and Portrait Enhancements for improved photo styles. Samsung Keyboard now features text auto-completion, while real-time translation is available for calls and text in images.
The update also includes voice-to-text conversion, better PDF management, and dynamic wallpapers that change with weather and time. It installs the Android security patch to improve system security.

Samsung has pushed an Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 update for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones in Korea. It is an initial rollout so it may take some hours or days to reach all models.

One UI 6.1.1 update offers several enhancements to provide a better Galaxy experience. It features Galaxy AI’s Sketch Conversion for artwork creation, improved Portrait Enhancements, and text auto-completion in Samsung Keyboard.
Users can now access real-time translation for calls and text in images, convert voice to text, manage PDFs more efficiently, and utilize dynamic wallpapers. This update also incorporates the September 2024 security patch.
Aside from this, it brings the Auto Zoon feature and the ability to shoot like a camcorder with Flex Cam to Galaxy Z Flip 6. It also supports HDR video format for the Insta Slow-mo feature in Gallery app.
