Upcoming Galaxy M55s reminds me of Samsung’s beloved A52s

Samsung Galaxy M55

Samsung’s seemingly developing Galaxy M55s smartphone. The naming strategy reminds me of the fan-favorite Galaxy A52s handset. It seems the company is working on a new variant with “s” branding for its Galaxy M55 5G smartphone.

Wi-Fi Alliance confirmed the existence of Samsung’s Galaxy M55s device. The phone appeared on the database with model number SM-M558B. It is expected to feature more powerful specifications than the standard Galaxy M55 5G handset.

The listing revealed that the upcoming device will support dual-band Wi-Fi. Other features such as the processor or camera may be upgraded to differentiate it from the regular one. Samsung may upgrade any one hardware aspect of the device to make it stand apart.

To recall, Samsung’s Galaxy M55 5G sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000-nit peak brightness. It’s equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor paired with 8/12GB of RAM, and 128/256GB of internal storage.

In terms of optics, the phone could get a triple rear camera system. The module may include a 50-megapixel primary with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultrawide, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It could also have a high-res 50-megapixel front camera for selfies.

Galaxy A52s

Samsung launched the Galaxy A52s in August 2021. It features the same dimensions, weight, and display size as the Galaxy A52 5G. However, it has a big advantage over the standard model – Snapdragon 778G, compared to Snapdragon 750G of the A52 5G.

Thanks to this flagship-grade chipset, consumers who own the A52s are still rocking with it. The chipset amazingly handles the One UI software, offering faster app loading, stable animation, reliable performance, and gaming capabilities.

This year, the Korean tech giant might be bringing the Galaxy M55s 5G. We expect the “s” version would have a newer generation of processor unlike the M55 5G’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The device may be available in certain markets including India.
