Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra 3nm Exynos W1000

Samsung is set to revolutionize its wearable game with a 3nm Exynos W1000 processor. The company officially launched its first 3nm processor, not for mobile but wearable devices. The chipset is set to debut with Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch models.

The Exynos W1000 wearable processor is manufactured on an advanced 3nm process by Samsung. The Korean tech giant is said to have utilized Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 3nm node. The chip is equipped with a Cortex-A78 CPU core for enhanced performance.

Exynos W1000’s CPU is quite powerful, featuring 1x Cortex-A78 and 4x Cortex-A55. As for the graphics, the new Exynos packs Arm Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, supporting screens with resolutions up to 640 x 640 pixels.

It is expected to offer 2.7x faster app launch times compared to the Exynos W930. In addition, the performance in single-core benchmark is 3.4x faster, while 3.7x faster in multi-core.

The company’s new wearable processor also enables faster app switching. Apart from 32Gb integrated internal memory, it incorporates many new technologies for size reduction and performance/efficiency increment.

Exynos W1000 also packs a 2.5D always-on display (AOD) engine. It is slated to offer an enhanced display and watch faces with rich details. Each element of the AOD UI is ultra-clear and easy to check.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7 series will pack this newly launched processor. Apple’s Watch Ultra 2 packs an S9 processor, which is manufactured on 4nm process technology.

As the popularity of wearables increases, upgraded chips may give an edge to Samsung. The first Watch Ultra by Samsung is unquestionably coming to compete with Apple’s Watch Ultra segment.

Last but not least, Samsung revealed Exynos W1000 has Bluetooth LE for audio and LPDDR5 RAM for enhanced power efficiency. The platform’s connectivity features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, and NFC.
