Samsung and Cisco may enter into a partnership in the AI sector. Last week, Cisco Chairman Chuck Robbins discussed potential AI collaboration with the top executives of Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Group, and Naver Corporation.

Talking about the partnership, Samsung supplied memory and processors to Cisco. Meanwhile, Cisco has historically supplied routers and switches to Samsung Elec. Now, Samsung is likely to manufacture the Silicon One G200 networking chip for Cisco.

Cisco’s head met Samsung’s Jay Y. Lee and remembered long-standing relations. Notably, both companies have close cooperation in semiconductor and telecommunications equipment. Besides, Cisco may also sign strategic partners with AMD and Intel.

“With Samsung, we had in-depth discussions about AI and communication trends,” Robbins said.

In addition, Robbins also met Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun and Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon. The official had discussions on AI security. Hyundai Motor may order Cisco’s new AI-based security solution for protection against security threats.

Cisco is famous for its LAN technology, which played a vital role in connecting distant PCs. The company was founded in 1984 by Stanford University computer scientists. Back in March 2000, it became the most valuable company in the United States.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 MediaTek Dimensity 9300+

Samsung could use MediaTek chips in its flagship product lineup, starting with the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Recent developments indicate that the upcoming premium tablets will be equipped with flagship MediaTek application processors globally.

According to a report, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series could feature MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor globally. Earlier, the Galaxy Tab S10+ was spotted with a MediaTek chip on Geekbench, signaling to be a US-specific variant.

Now, the Galaxy Tab S10+ global variant is listed on Geekbench. The benchmark database suggests that Samsung’s SM-X926B uses a GTS10U chip. It matches the codename of MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+, fabricated on TSMC’s 4nm process.

Samsung might ship the Galaxy Tab S10 series with Dimensity 9300+ paired with 12GB RAM and Android 14. The Plus variant managed to score 2,141 points in Geekbench’s 6.3.0 single-core test and 5,533 points in the multi-core test.

Dimensity 9300 packs an octa-core CPU with one Cortex-X4 core @ 3.4GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores @ 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores @ 2GHz. MediaTek launched it to compete with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.

In addition, the SoC contains the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU with HDR gaming and raytracing support. It also boasts a powerful NPU with 48 TOPS of AI inferencing performance as well as a built-in 5G modem with mmWave and sub-6GHz support.

A few days back, Samsung announced that it is working closely with MediaTek. The company’s upcoming chip, Dimensity 9400 has been validated with Samsung’s fastest LPDDR5X RAM. The partnership could result in MediaTek’s utilization of more products.

Samsung Foundry’s 3nm process is reportedly facing yield and performance issues. It was rumored that the next-gen flagship Dimensity chipset could replace Exynos in most markets. The decision is aimed to maintain a dual chip strategy and reduce reliance on Qualcomm.
