As we all know, WhatsApp has been working on a new third-party chat support, which allows users to receive and send messages from other messaging apps. Meanwhile, a new WhatsApp feature is also in development that allows users to turn off the third-party chat service on their Android devices.

According to the information, WhatsApp is working on the ability to turn off the chat interoperability service, because it is required by Article 7 of the EU regulations. This new addition to third-party chat will highlight the importance of user control over data sharing and communication preferences.

The option to disable the chat interoperability service will help users, who no longer wish to use this feature. As disabling the chat interoperability service will restrict users from sending or receiving messages in third-party chats. Simultaneously, their existing third-party chats will transition to a read-only mode.

In addition to this, WhatsApp is also developing a feature to allow users to choose which third-party apps should communicate with the app. However, the ability to selectively choose which third-party apps can communicate with WhatsApp offers users a customized experience, as they can opt for integration with only those services they trust.

However, both of these features including the ability to turn off third-party chat and an option to choose reliable chat partners are currently in development, and WhatsApp will include them in the interoperability service soon.
