WhatsApp will soon redesign status updates tray interface
To offer users a seamless experience, WhatsApp keeps on optimizing its functionalities and now the maker is working to redesign the interface of the status updates tray. Following the launch of Channels, the Status section received several modifications.
Going toward the details, WhatsApp is working on a fresh interface for the status updates tray, which will allow users to save time as they get a preview of the first shared status update through its thumbnail, eliminating the need to open each update individually.
While, the tray will stay positioned at the top of the updates tab, making it easily accessible and visible as soon as users open this tab. However, this addition seems to eliminate the frustration, which users experienced with the new horizontal layout for status updates.
WhatsApp states that, it will address these concerns by enabling users to preview status updates through a large thumbnail directly in the tray. Simultaneously, the fresh interface for the status updates tray is currently under development and it will be available in a future update of the app.

WhatsApp Status updates feature is the most used section of the application as it allows users to share text, photo, video, and GIF updates that disappear after 24 hours. You can send and receive status updates with people when you both have each other saved as contacts.

Now, community owners can now easily hand over their admin rights to another admin. This can be done through the community settings, just select a new admin >> confirm the transfer, and the new owner will get a notification about their new role.
In addition, the update also brings an option to archive community group chats directly from the Chats tab. Previously, users could only do this from the Communities tab, but now they can achieve groups without switching tabs.
Not only this, the update also includes a feature that lets community admins hide certain group chats from general community members. This means admins can now keep specific discussions private, only visible to invited participants and other admins.

However, users of this update encountered a major issue as the locked chats and chat filters stopped working properly. Mainly, users found that locked chats were missing from their interface, and they could not use filters to manage their conversations.
Several WhatsApp beta testers tried to fix the problem by restarting their devices or force-stopping the app, but these actions did not resolve the issue. This bug makes it difficult to access important conversations and navigate through messages.
Fortunately, WhatsApp has now fixed the issue with locked chats and filters through its latest beta update. After installing this update, users can once again access their locked chats and use chat filters.

Previously, if a WhatsApp community owner wanted to transfer ownership, they had to create a new community and ask everyone to join it. This was a long process and could lead to losing members and causing confusion.
Now, the new transfer ownership feature of WhatsApp resolves this issue by making it simple to pass on the leadership without any major disruptions and following a too-long process.
This feature appears in the community settings and makes it simple for current owners to transfer their leadership duties. Once the transfer is complete, the original owner will still be an admin but will lose the top decision-making capabilities.
They can continue to help manage and moderate the community, but won’t be able to make major changes like disabling the community or removing other admins.
The Transfer community ownership feature is currently available to some beta testers who have installed the WhatsApp beta version 2.24.19.34 from the Google Play Store. The company plans to roll it out to more users over the next few weeks.
