Will Samsung’s Galaxy AI beat Apple iPhone?
Samsung’s first set of AI Phones, the Galaxy S24 series, launched at the Unpacked event in San Jose, USA. With generative AI in Galaxy, Samsung left Apple iPhone far behind and people are surprised by AI functions such as interpretation and translation that work without the Internet.
Innovation that Samsung has shown in the previous Galaxy devices has always left a bitter aftertaste. The “camera that can take pictures of the moon and the Milky Way” was far from real life, and foldables were not a “game changer” that could break through Apple’s solid fan base.

There are favorable reviews such as ‘AI has brought the smartphone competition back to square one, and Samsung is ahead for now’, as well as unusual comments such as ‘I need to replace my iPhone with a Galaxy’. The expectation that ‘there will be a lot to praise without putting in effort’ finally became a certainty.
Although this favorable review is an acknowledgment that Samsung has opened the era of AI smartphones, it does not mean that it will win the future AI competition. It is said that Korean engineers are exceptional at elaborately developing existing tech, but unable to create something completely new.
The same goes for Samsung!?
The interpretation, translation, document summarization, and image editing that the Galaxy S24 featured were all advanced versions of familiar AI technologies that we had seen somewhere else. “Circle to Search” which seems a wonderful creation is crafted by Google and based on Google AI.
Although Samsung has opened the door to AI smartphones, there is still a possibility that Apple, synonymous with innovation, will turn the game around. Above all, this is a time when Samsung’s paradigm shift to becoming a ‘disruptive innovator’ has become important.

AI offers more accurate health analyses. The Galaxy Ring integrates with Galaxy Watch through AI to improve accuracy and precision. When paired with the Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch Ultra, the Ring’s battery life extends by up to 30%.
Samsung debuted the Energy Score system with Galaxy Ring. This AI-enabled feature makes you aware of how health influences daily life. You can use recommendations based on your current physical state to focus your efforts on improvements.
An AI-powered sleep algorithm analyzes sleep patterns including snore detection, sleep movement, heart rate, and respiratory rate. These details combined unlock Sleep Score to provide personalized insights, identifying disruptions and suggesting adjustments.
Galaxy Ring also supports the Heart Rate Alert, which provides instant notifications of exceptionally high or low heart rates. The notification arrives through the Samsung Health app integrated with Stress Monitoring.
