Samsung and Korean network provider, LG U+, today announced the arrival of the Galaxy Family Phone Program, allowing customers to replace the batteries of unused phones for free and pass them on to their children as if they were new phones.

The Galaxy Family Phone Program is a service in which users who purchase and activate a new Galaxy premium phone from LG U+ receive a battery replacement coupon when they open an existing used phone in their child’s name and create a Samsung Child Account.

Once the family name of the customer and the child is confirmed, the child can use the coupon to replace the used phone battery for free and use it like a new phone. The program is limited to children under the age of 14, and users of other companies can use it when transferring their number to LG U+.

The models eligible for used phones are the Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 series and Flip/Fold 3 and 4, and used phones that were not in use immediately before the newly purchased phone are also eligible. For each new premium phone, you can pass on one used phone.

Battery replacement coupons are provided only once per device based on the terminal unique identification number (IMEI), and can be used within 6 months at 173 Samsung service centers located across the country. After replacing the battery, a screen protection film is also provided.
