Samsung has begun rolling out the January 2024 security update to Galaxy devices. In the initial phase, the company’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 started to grab the New Year update. Samsung will sequentially push the new firmware to more eligible Galaxies.
The South Korean tech giant has already updated the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 to the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 firmware. Meanwhile, this new patch update comes as a security booster firmware for the company’s 2022 foldable smartphones.

As usual, Samsung might release the patch details as soon as Google publishes the Android bulletin. Since Pixel phones are yet to grab the January patch, the Android security bulletin is due as well. We can expect details to go out by later this week by Samsung.
Samsung has to hold a mega Unpacked event this month in the US. The company will unveil the Galaxy AI-powered Galaxy S24 series, which will directly compete with Apple’s iPhone 15 and Google’s Pixel 8 lineup. One UI 6.1 version will also make its debut, making it worth waiting for the event.

Verizon US brings One UI 6.1.1 features to Galaxy Tab S9+ 5G
Verizon is rolling out the One UI 6.1.1 update for Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ 5G in the US. This update is already live in Europe and Korea. The company will soon make it available in more countries.
The fresh update introduces One UI 6.1.1 features that make the performance of the device smoother. Also, it installs the August 2024 security patch to improve system security and stability.
Notably, the One UI 6.1.1 update adds exciting new features like turning your sketches into images, making photos look better, and auto-completing text on the Samsung Keyboard. You can now translate calls and text in images in real-time, convert voice to text, handle PDFs more easily, and enjoy wallpapers that change with the weather and time.

To check for software updates manually, head toward your phone’s Settings. At the bottom, you will get the Software Update section, simply open it. Inside the submenu, you need to hit the Download and Install button if your Galaxy fetches a new OTA.
