After Phone (1) and its sequel, Nothing is preparing to launch an affordable smartphone. We’ve heard a lot about the company’s first budget handset. Meanwhile, the leaked price of Nothing Phone 2a positions it as a serious Galaxy A54 competitor.

According to the info (via Roland Quandt), Nothing Phone 2a will start under €400 in Europe and will be offered in White and Black colorways. The company is expected to unveil it during MWC in Barcelona in late February, while various specs have been leaked over the past few days.

On the processor side, Nothing Phone 2a seems a better option (via nanoreview) for the price segment. The rumored Dimensity 7200 SoC is manufactured on 4nm process tech, while Galaxy A54’s Exynos 1380 is built on 5nm. The former has 17% higher CPU clock speed as well as around 19% higher GPU frequency.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A54 launched at a price tag of €449 for an 8GB + 128GB model. At the same time, the Nothing Phone 2a is expected to be available for under €400 for the same memory configuration as Samsung’s best mid-range phone in 2023.
