According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.24.23 is rolling out with the ability to check Status from the Chat screen. Status updates can also be visible in the conversation screen as the status ring now appears around the profile photo within the top app bar.

This change significantly enhances the overall user experience by minimizing the need to navigate between tabs, and improving the process of staying connected with your contacts by viewing their status updates even from the conversation screen.
In addition, this reduced navigation not only enhances efficiency but also contributes to a more user-friendly experience. It’s very important to note that if you choose to mute status updates from a particular contact, you won’t see them when you open the conversation with that contact.
Google offers 15GB of free cloud storage to all accounts, shared across Drive, Gmail, and Photos. On Android devices, WhatsApp offers an automated backup service that regularly creates a backup of your chat history on Google Drive.
In its recent announcement, Google said that WhatsApp chat backup will start counting toward your Google Account cloud storage limit. Beta users will shift to this change next month, with expansion scheduled until early 2024.

As long as you have available space within your Google Account, WhatsApp backups will continue to work. However, you’ll need to free up space to restart automatic backup in case you hit the storage limit (15GB).
Google’s announcement notes that WhatsApp backup experience on Android will be in line with how it works on other platforms, with the added benefit of Google’s 15 GB of storage available at no charge.
Recently, WhatsApp announced the launch of a new voice chat feature for large groups. It’s designed to be less disruptive than a group call, which rings every member of a group.
Voice chats are started quietly without any ringing involved with an in-chat bubble that you tap to join. This new feature allows you to talk about things with whoever can join while allowing you to keep messaging those who can’t.

By clicking on the call controls at the top of the chat, you can quickly unmute, hang up, or message the group without having to leave the voice chat. WhatsApp notes that it protects voice chats with end-to-end encryption by default.
The new voice chats feature is rolling out globally to large groups over the coming weeks, starting with those that have 33 people or more. It also launched passkey support on Android, along with a new “Flows” functionality.
