Samsung is the king of the global smartphone market: TechInsights
Global smartphone shipments declined by 0.3% year-on-year to 296 million units in the third quarter of the year. During the period, Samsung ranked first with a share of 20%, and Apple continued its second position with about 16% market share, reports TechInsights.
TechInsights report says that Samsung global smartphone shipments were 59.5 million units, with a market share of 20%, down from 22% year over year. Apple’s iPhone ranked second with global shipments of 46.6 million units, occupying nearly 16% of the market share, down 4% year over year.

China’s Xiaomi maintained its third position, with global smartphone shipments in the quarter reaching 41.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3%, and a market share of 14%. However, OPPO and Transsion shipped 27.7 and 26.4 million units, respectively.
