Google has renamed its camera app from Google Camera to Pixel Camera on the Play Store as the app is only compatible with Pixel devices. The new name reflects the fact that the app is exclusive to Pixel devices and offers features that are developed for them.

In addition to this, the app description has also been updated to highlight the redesigned interface and the new features that are available on Pixel devices running Android 14 and above. Some of these features include Portrait, Night Sight, Time Lapse, and Cinematic Blur. The app also supports Wear OS 3 and above devices connected to Pixel phones.

The latest version of Pixel Camera is 9.0 for the Pixel Fold, Tablet, and 7 Pro. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are running version 9.1 and getting a patch update soon. The app listing also showcases some of the exclusive features of the Pixel 8 Pro, such as 50MP High Res and Pro Controls.

The Pixel Camera brand was first announced by Google at I/O 2023, along with other apps and services that are specific to Pixel devices, such as Pixel Call Assist, Pixel Speech, and Pixel Safe. These apps and services aim to provide a better and more wonderful experience for Pixel users.
