Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 December 2023 update

Samsung One UI 5 Watch update is already available for Galaxy Watch 5 users in a bunch of countries (India, Europe, and South Korea) and the company is now expanding this update in more countries including Malaysia.

The new update for Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro arrives with the July 2023 security patch to improve system security. It brings a bundle of new features, enhancements, and improvements to provide a next-level experience.

One UI 5 Watch Features

With One UI 5 Watch, you can add new watch faces and tiles more easily and customize them with albums or stories. Users can now make their watch face cycle between pictures in an album or story that they select, or use a new vertical layout to find the watch faces and tiles that are right for them.

Another highlight of the update is the improved Samsung Health app that can automatically record cycling workouts, provide heart rate guidance during running workouts, and map cycling routes. Users can also set whether to automatically map their cycling routes or not. The app can also detect when users start cycling and record their workout automatically.

The update also brings more call controls that allow users to adjust the volume, mute sound, and press keypad buttons from the watch. Users can also dictate text with the Home button by switching to voice input instantly. Additionally, users can use multiple timers at once, up to 20, to keep track of various tasks.

The update also adds a backup and restore feature that can save watch data to the phone or Samsung Cloud periodically. Users can also share their medical info in an emergency by accessing a button that appears when a hard fall is detected or when the Emergency SOS feature is activated. Furthermore, users can check the status of the battery, storage, and memory and fix any problems with the device care feature.

The update also introduces universal gestures that can control the watch without touching the screen or pressing a button. Moreover, users can organize their apps in folders to find them quickly with less scrolling.

How to Update

To download the One UI 5 Watch update for Galaxy Watch 5, users can either connect their watch to their phone via Bluetooth and use the Galaxy Wearable app or turn on WiFi on their watch and check for updates from the settings menu. The update is expected to roll out to other regions soon.
