Due to overheating and power efficiency problems, Qualcomm ditched Samsung from its manufacturing chain. TSMC is currently producing all flagship Snapdragon chipsets for Qualcomm, while, Samsung will make a comeback as early as the next year.

Ming-Chi Kuo claims that has “already cooperated” with the two foundry giants – TSMC and Samsung Foundry for the production of its 2024 flagship processor. As the latter has improved its advanced semiconductor yield rates in recent months, the US chip designer is splitting the orders again.

It’s noteworthy that Qualcomm is not giving Samsung the entire manufacturing contract for Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, though. Rumors suggest that TSMC will manufacture the standard version while Samsung will manufacture the “for Galaxy” version for the Galaxy S25 series.
