Samsung trademarks S24, the next-gen Galaxy flagship lineup
Samsung has registered a trademark application in the UK to secure “S24.” The company has already filed an application with the UK Intellectual Property Office and the only product category that was checked off is “smartphones.”
Prior to the trademark application, we have seen the presence of Samsung Galaxy S24 series behind the doors through Geekbench, and TUV certification. It indicates the Korean tech giant has already shifted its focus on the next year’s flagship smartphones.
In the Galaxy S24 series, there will be three models namely – Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung is bringing some notable upgrades to non-Ultra devices such as an LTPO display, narrower bezels, and a larger battery (Plus-only).

Samsung could let you launch Gemini with power button
Your Samsung Galaxy could soon let you launch Gemini AI through the power button. Currently, you can either launch Bixby or the power menu by pressing the side key.
AndroidAuthority discovered that Gemini AI may be linked to the power button on your Samsung devices. It will unlock fast and easy access to launch the new AI-powered assistant by Google.
Google app’s latest version suggests that the Gemini AI app could soon be triggered by long-pressing the power key on Samsung Galaxy devices.
Once released, the new feature will be displayed through the Gemini AI intro screen that’ll appear in the setup wizard for Samsung devices, informing users that they can “hold down the Side button to talk to Gemini.”
Similar to Google Assistant, Gemini can also be summoned by saying “Hey Google.” However, the power button feature will be a stunning integration, as part of improving user experience.
Since the launch, Google has been evolving the Gemini AI assistant. The platform has recently added a Gemini Live feature for Android users, letting them uniquely use AI magic.
Meanwhile, the power button feature won’t remain limited to just Samsung devices. More strings suggest that Android phones that use the term “power button” will also get the update.
Well, it remains to be seen when the update rolls out for Samsung devices. The Stable One UI 7 could activate the feature after possible unveiling with the Galaxy S25 series early next year.

Samsung to unveil Home AI innovations at CES 2025
Samsung today announced that it will hold a press conference on January 6, 2025, a day before the opening of the world’s largest information technology (IT) and consumer electronics exhibition, CES 2025, in Las Vegas, USA.
The event, featuring Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, CEO of Samsung and head of the DX division, as the keynote speaker, will reveal Samsung’s Home AI innovations and strategy under the theme “AI for All: Everyday, Everywhere.”
The press conference will be streamed live on Samsung Newsroom.
Samsung’s CES 2025 invite also reveals that the Press Conference is open to all credentialed members of the media with a CES badge, and there is no need to register or RSVP.
However, it is highly recommended that participants arrive early as seats are very limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
CES 2025 is a great opportunity to showcase technological innovations. Rather than mobile, Samsung prefers Home AI and appliances to be showcased at the exhibition. It solidifies the Galaxy S25 unveiling to happen separately.
Samsung could introduce the new flagships in late January next year. Korean media reported that a Galaxy Unpacked could be held on January 22. The next-gen Galaxy flagships are expected to gain a positive response in the market.
