Later this year, Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which will power most of the Android flagships of 2024. Recently, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Plus registered its presence with this upcoming chipset, while a leak just appeared revealing Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 specs.

According to Weibo tipster DCS, Qualcomm will no longer use ARM’s standard CPU designs for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 due to the acquisition of Nuvia. Therefore, the US chip designer will reportedly switch to custom Phoenix cores and likely to be produced on TSMC N3E (3nm) process

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 employs a similar configuration, featuring two ‘Phoenix’ cores and six ‘Phoenix M’ cores. Per the leak, the chip will use fewer performance cores, Qualcomm’s new architecture may not require such cores to deliver incredible single-core or multi-core performance.
