OnePlus kicks out BOE in favor of better foldable display from Samsung
OnePlus Open will be the first foldable smartphone by the Chinese brand. The device was expected to launch in August, but it looks like, OnePlus preferred a better display for its first foldable smartphone, which can only be delivered by Samsung.
According to MaxJambor, OnePlus slightly delayed the launch of its Open foldable smartphone. The tipster said that the delay in the launch will be fruitful for consumers, as the company kicked out Chinese panel maker BOE from its supply chain in favor of Samsung.
Samsung has recently released its fifth generation of foldable smartphones. Compared to rivals, the Korean tech giant has a lead in terms of foldable display technology. This appears to have attracted OnePlus, leading removal of BOE from the supply chain.

OnePlus 12 is on the verge of being unveiled in China, with global launch set to take place on January 23. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the upcoming OnePlus 12 comes with a 5400mAh battery, which won’t be available in Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Official teaser posters reveal that the OnePlus 12 is equipped with a battery with 5,400 mAh capacity, which is 400mAh larger than Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra. Moreover, the device supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging functionality.

It’s worth noting that the OnePlus 12 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This chip’s overclocked variant will power Samsung’s next Galaxy S flagship lineup. Hence, the OnePlus phone might easily beat the Galaxy S24 Ultra in terms of battery performance.
