One UI 7 will improve Samsung LockStar functions for better AOD experience

Samsung LockStar AOD One UI 7

Samsung is set to improve the Good Lock module’s LockStar functions with the upcoming One UI 7 update. The next major update will address the issue affecting LockStar and the Always-On Display (AOD).

Some Galaxy users have reported issues with the LockStar app. The problem occurs when they try to move the notification icons on the lock screen. These changes also affect the layout of widgets on the Always-On Display (AOD), causing them to overlap.

For instance, if you move the clock on the lock screen, the calendar widget on the AOD also shifts. This can result in the notification icon and calendar overlapping in an unwanted way.

This issue appears to be specific to the Galaxy S24 and wasn’t a problem on earlier models like the Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S10. However, it might be because of the latest software and hardware.

Fortunately, Samsung has acknowledged this bug and confirmed that it will be addressed in the One UI 7 update. The update will separate the lock screen settings from the AOD settings, so users will be able to adjust the notification icon and widgets on the lock screen and AOD independently.

One UI 7 update will improve LockStar functions to fix the overlap issue and allow for better customization without problems. For now, users affected by the issue can either adjust their lock screen and AOD settings to avoid the overlap or wait for the One UI 7 update to be released.

Samsung is testing Android 15 and One UI 7.0 on several of its budget smartphones, and the Galaxy M14 has recently been spotted on Geekbench with the new build. The benchmarking shows the performance of the phone on the next One UI software.

Launched in 2023, Samsung Galaxy M14 4G now appears with One UI 7, but there’s no official Android 15 firmware for the device yet. Notably, the phone scored 419 in the single-core test and 1387 in the multi-core test on Geekbench, giving us a look at how it performs with Android 15.

The Galaxy M14 is for budget phones and they usually get software updates later than flagship models. Since the M14 was released more than a year ago, it’s not surprising that it’s among the ones to get the One UI 7 update.
