No NFC? No problem! Google Wallet now allows you to pay with QR codes with your credit or debit card. Google has introduced a new feature that lets you scan a QR code on the payment terminal with your phone and complete the transaction. This feature was revealed at the fifth Google for Brazil event.

The QR code payment feature for the Google Wallet app is being launched in Brazil first because a significant portion of smartphones in the country do not have NFC, the technology used in contactless payment methods. This means that many Brazilians have been unable to use Google Wallet’s digital payments feature.

Now, paying credit or debit cards bill with your phone is easy and convenient. All you have to do is scan the QR code that the payment terminal shows you with your Google Wallet app.

You will see all the details of the transaction on your phone screen, including the price and the option to switch to a different card if you want. To confirm the payment, just tap the “pay now” button and use your fingerprint to verify your identity. You will get a confirmation message on your phone and a receipt from the merchant.
