Flop shows begin early, end late: The One UI 6 Vs OxygenOS 14, ColorOS 14
Google I/O 2023 unlocked Android 14’s access for various brands like Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus and realme. While Chinese brands are already testing the Android 14, ColorOS 14 and OxygenOS 14 may surely get early debut than Samsung’s One UI 6, but it’s not a defeat!
Samsung is maintaining the gap with Android 14 Beta testing. As soon as the new OS reaches a satisfactory level of stability, the Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta will go live for the Galaxy S23 series. No doubt, OxygenOS/ColorOS 14 may go official early but will get defeated by One UI 6.

Last year, Samsung started the One UI 5’s Beta testing in early August, with the Galaxy-exclusive skin that went official in late October. Within 2022, the company amazed consumers by completing the rollout to all eligible models internationally.
On the other hand, brands like Oppo and OnePlus took the entire first quarter of 2023 to share the Android 13 features with their low-end/old flagship devices. They would surely come ahead of Samsung, but the deployment can’t be defeated easily.
Talking about incremental updates, the South Korean tech giant does everything on time. The One UI security bulletin was published in the first week of June, while multiple Galaxy phones and tablets have already upgraded to the June patch.
On the other hand, OnePlus has today started the June 2023 patch rollout, which could get completed next month. I’ve seen OnePlus users crying for May 2023 OxygenOS update, which didn’t even arrive for some models. And Oppo is busy publishing monthly roadmaps for Android 13 distribution.
