According to a Chosun report, multiple Samsung Electronics officials said, “All other in-house software development organizations have been restricted from using GPUs.” This means the company invested all of its GPU resources into AI development to complete the development by the next month.

At the group management meeting, plans for collaboration with various companies such as Open AI, Microsoft, Google, and Naver were discussed, but the conclusion was reached at a recent top management meeting attended by Chairman Lee Jae-yong to “develop in-house as soon as possible.”

The report further states that could make all Galaxy smartphone users disappointed. Initially, Samsung’s AI language model is planned to be used by employees for tasks like software development, document summarization, and translation.

Samsung aims to increase productivity by developing its own AI without security problems and without relying on language models made by Open AI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft, and Google. However, the company has not yet decided whether to service the AI under development to general users.

US and China tariff deal is a good sign for Apple

iPhone 16E

The US and China have announced a halt in fiery tariff imposition and marked a mutual deal to bring down import duty in both countries, which could be a big relief for Apple.

This trade deal comes after talks between two giant economies in Geneva. According to the joint statement, the US will reduce tariffs on Chinese goods to 30 percent from 145 percent and China will do the same by reducing import duties on US products to 10 percent from 125 percent.

China stands as a production hub for Apple, products, including the iPhone, comes out of the Chinese factories and goes around the globe. In April, US President Donald Trump announced a sliding tariff on China, which escalated the trade war. The two sides began announcing new tariff rates on each other, increasing upto 145% from the US side.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro

Earlier this month, Apple CEO, Tim Cook, said that the US bound iPhone production will shift to India due to the high import rate on Chinese goods. The company also projected $900 million loss in costs in the current quarter.

“We do expect the majority of iPhones sold in the US will have India as their country of origin” said Cook a week ago.

Eventually, this US-China tariff deal is likely to bring calm in Apple’s corner and will allow the company to think back on its production shift decision.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Teaser

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge in the US tonight. Major US carrier, AT&T, has also teased the availability of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

AT&T quoted Samsung Mobile US’s post of the Galaxy S25 Edge teaser. It’s nothing but an official confirmation that the slim Galaxy device will be hitting AT&T store shelves.

The carrier’s “See You 5/12” also indicates that the pre-order should start today. However, the official release/sales are expected later this month, if previous revelations are accurate.

Apart from AT&T, other US cellular networks, including Verizon and T-Mobile, have not yet confirmed or teased the availability of the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Galaxy S25 Edge is said to be just 5.85mm thick, the sleekest Galaxy ever. The company has also drastically reduced the weight, as it’s expected to be roughly 160 grams.

The slimness is coming in favor of two major aspects: a smaller battery and a lack of Telephoto. The phone features a 3900mAh battery, and there’s no dedicated zoom camera like the other three.

However, you don’t need to worry about performance and durability. The device is toughened by exclusive Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy under the hood.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the Galaxy S25 Edge would cost between the S25 Plus and Ultra. In the US, the phone could come with a starting price tag of nearly $1100 to $1150.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus Price

Samsung has raised the Galaxy S25 series production target for May 2025 amid US tariff uncertainties, TheElec reports.

According to the info, Samsung has ramped up this month’s Galaxy S25 series production target by 800,000 units; the decision comes ahead of the potential US tariffs to be imposed on imports to the United States.

The report suggests that the May production plan for the flagship Galaxy S25 series includes 1.3 million units of the standard model, 500,000 units of the Plus, and 1.5 million units of the Ultra, totaling 3.3 million units.

That said, the Korean tech giant has increased its production target by up to 1 million units over the March forecast, plus 800,000 units more than the early-to-mid-April forecast (2.5 million), with the Ultra model seeing the biggest hike.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus

The company has sold around 30 million Galaxy devices in the US last year. Galaxy S flagships are cash cows for Samsung in the US, over Galaxy A phones. This way, Samsung could safeguard these units from the potential US tariffs.

While the production has been hiked for May, it has been reduced for June and July. The launch of Galaxy S25 Edge is also considered a reason, which is coming next week, ahead of the new foldables in early July this year.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Earlier this month, Samsung started rolling out the May 2025 security update to the Galaxy S25 series, but it’s yet to release in Europe. Carrier-locked and unlocked models have received the firmware in the US over the past 7 days.

Samsung Galaxy S25 series users in Europe are waiting for the May 2025 security update. Earlier, it was rumored that the May release would be a significant one for the smartphones, but the company has postponed it to next month.

The May 2025 update focuses on system security improvements. The next firmware is expected to bring stability enhancements, camera UI tweaks, and a performance boost. The photography and videography functions will also elevate.

Users of the S25 series have started getting the May update in the US (carrier-locked and unlocked), Canada, and India. More markets are gradually joining the rollout pace, but such expansion hasn’t been recorded in Europe.

The Galaxy S25 series was launched with Android 15-based One UI 7. The new OS introduces smooth animations, a modern user interface, unified UI components, shapes, and dynamic colors, however, there’s room for improvement.

Apart from security enhancements, the Galaxy S25 series requires functional refinements. The software is all fine, but it lags behind the Galaxy S24’s One UI 7 update, which was rigorously tested by millions for over 4 months.

Samsung will improve the One UI on the Galaxy S25 series with incremental updates. The expansion would soon take place in Europe, opening up yet another opportunity for you to experience the Seamless Update solution.
