Samsung One UI 6 might bring iPhone-like battery health feature
Samsung One UI 6 might bring a new battery health feature to Galaxy devices as Android 14 adds supported APIs. This feature is inspired by Apple iPhone, which allows the user to check how much mileage (health) their phone’s battery left in percentage.
The better battery health the better your smartphone performs. In addition, battery health is a key player when you Apple users sell their used iPhones. Android 14 adds new APIs, using which developers can get battery health data and show up through the application.

As the change spotted in API, Google might introduce this feature into the system Settings itself. As Samsung adopts almost all the bells and whistles of Android, the One UI 6 is likely to come with this new battery health feature. Meanwhile, there’s no confirmation, whether or not this new function will officially arrive.
Mishaal Rahman spotted that the company has added some APIs in Android 14, which can pass on key battery details such as manufacturing date, date of first use, charging policy, state of health, cycle count, and charging status. Since the feature is not visible in Android 14, an app would do the work for you.
Select smartphones are running the Android 14 test build, which supports the open-source battery health check app called Batt. This shows you the number of charging cycles you’ve undertaken on the phone, while battery health percentage data requires an ADB command.

The source further said that this data may not be perfect as the change is still under development. If the Android maker founds it useful and user-friendly, Android 14 would surely be equipped with a battery health checker during the official release.
