List of devices that are running the Android 14 Beta
On May 10, 2023, Google expanded Android 14 Beta to select non-Pixel flagship devices from partner brands. Samsung, as always, is skipping the Android Beta Program, while the new OS is available for select devices launched by iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Tecno, vivo, and Xiaomi.
According to the roadmap, Android 14 may not get a new Beta build, not counting hotfix updates for Beta 2. By the next month, Android’s version 14 will achieve the platform stability milestone, ensuring developers and OEMs that there won’t be major changes.
With Android 14, Google focussing on integrating Generative AI capabilities to Google Workspace services such as Messages and Gmail. The company teased a number of additions scheduled for release throughout the year, and the new OS will solidify stunning experiences.
The new OS adds an AI-powered Wallpaper feature, which will allow users to create walls through emojis as well as give a 3D effect. Most of the newly showcased features are already available for Samsung phones such as Cinematic Wallpaper is just a simple clone of Samsung’s Wonderland.
Moreover, the company revealed that it’s taking customization to the next level with the arrival of Android 14 later this year. There will be more new customization capabilities such as custom shortcuts and clock styles along with a new monochrome color theme.
Apart from this, there’s a lot in Google’s pipeline for the Android OS. It’s expected that the company may see the new version of AOSP by late July, meanwhile, the One UI 6 Beta is likely to begin this year early than the One UI 5 as Samsung is already testing it on Galaxy S23 internally.

Nearby Share Beta for Windows:
You can now easily send or receive photos, documents, and more between nearby Android devices and Windows PCs through the Nearby Share Beta app. You can download it from the link mentioned here.
New Widgets
The company added new widgets that allow you to customize your phone or tablet home screen. The three new widgets are Google TV, stock tracking from Google Finance, and curated daily headlines from Gooogle news.
Fast Pair
Your Android device now lets you quickly detect and securely set up a Matte-enabled device through the Google Home app.
New WearOS feature
Users of WearOS devices now just need to tap on the Play option from their watch and let Spotify’s DJ deliver a personalized series of their favorite music, stream episodes, and more.

Google Play Books App
Google released a new app named Google Play Books and Audiobooks app. It is a platform where you can choose from millions of best-selling ebooks, coming, manga, textbooks, and audiobooks.
Through reading practices, it helps new readers improve their vocabulary and comprehension skills using their Android phones and tablets.
New Gboard Stickers
Google Keyboard now added new sticks to Emoji Kitchen. Now, you can use the new aquatic-themed emoji combinations to liven up even the subtlest conversations.
New YouTube feature
Now, you can add shorts to your YouTube playlists for even ways to save and curate content watch over and over again.
Protection
For better security of your data, Google provides guidance on how to protect yourself and also lets you scan to see if your Gmail address has been leaked on the dark web.
Samsung is already rolling out support for One UI 6 to a native app, up for download for some. The company is internally testing the Android 14 Beta on the Galaxy S23 series and today begins to update stock apps months ahead of the software’s debut.

The South Korean tech giant often updates One UI apps, bringing support for unreleased software iterations. It helps the app continue to work after upgrading to a new version of the operating system or a major One UI switch. It brings “added colors following One UI 6.x” the changelog reads.
Notably, the Samsung Calculator app with support for One UI 6 is not available to download for all consumers. It rolled out to a limited number of users having the latest flagship smartphone. In the coming days, we are expecting a wider rollout of this upgraded app version.

One UI 6 Release Date
Google is expected to release the Stable Android 14 operating system by August this year. Around the same timeframe, Samsung is likely to announce the One UI 6 Beta program for select Galaxy devices. However, the Stable One UI 6.0 update rollout could begin in October 2023.
One UI 6 Eligible Devices
All the Samsung devices released with Android 12-based One UI 4 out of the box are eligible to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. In addition, a number of flagship devices (phones and tablets) will also get the major upgrade, thanks to the four OS guarantee. Check the list below:

Android 14 officially debuted for testing and development, and a number of Samsung Galaxy devices will receive it with One UI 6.0. Google is likely to push the official version of Android 14 by August this year, whereas the One UI 6 Beta might start by late July.
Millions of Galaxy devices have already upgraded to the Android 13 operating system, but, Samsung consumers have now started to discuss the Android 14 update. Pay attention, Galaxy devices eligible for a more major OS upgrade might get One UI 5.1.1 as well, based on Android 13, before v14.
In early February, Google kicked off Android 14 on the Developer Preview channel, with the 2nd build released in March. April and May are the months of Android 14’s Public Beta rollout (Beta 1 and Beta 2), however, Platform Stability could be reached in June / July.
Various non-Pixel phones are now eligible to install the Android 14 Beta, thanks to Google’s announcement at I/O 2023. Regardless, Samsung hasn’t participated in Google’s activities as it runs its own One UI Beta testing for Galaxy handsets.
The current One UI 5.0 is based on Android 13, whereas the last year’s One UI 4.x versions were based on the Android 12 OS. Accordingly, the company will introduce the One UI 6.0 software for Galaxy devices, which will be based on the Android 14 OS.
Samsung is committed to bringing up to four generations of Android plus One UI and five years of security updates. Thanks to this solid policy, we have a pretty clear idea of which Galaxies will be receiving the next Android version upgrade.
