Chat Lock on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has officially introduced the Chat Lock. Starting today, Samsung Galaxy users can take benefit of the brand new Chat Lock on WhatsApp feature. When enabled, it protects your most intimate conversations behind another layer of security.

The popular messenger app already had a biometric lock feature, letting users prevent access to others. Meanwhile, the Chat Lock is a step ahead and allows you to protect a specific chat, which can only be accessed with your device password or biometric.

In addition, WhatsApp confirmed that it’s going to add more useful tools to this feature such as locking for companion devices and creating a custom password for your chats. It will help you use a different password that doesn’t match with your phone’s password.

As the rollout of this feature has just begun, we recommend you stay on the latest stable build of WhatsApp Messenger. As soon as the company expands its availability, the Play Store will notify you about the new version’s availability.

How to use?

Samsung Galaxy smartphone and tablet users can lock a WhatsApp chat by tapping the name of a one-to-one or group and selecting the lock option. To reveal these chats, slowly pull down your inbox and enter your phone password or biometric.
