Google Contacts birthday notifications feature starts rolling out
Mostly we save birthday dates in the Calendar or Reminder app so that we can remember or check them, but now you can save birthday dates directly through the contact app. Yes, Google Contacts has started rolling out the birthday notifications feature for Android users.
Google Contacts birthday notifications feature is available with version 4.7.26.x but it is rolling out for limited Android devices and the company will soon expand it to more devices.
In addition to this, Google is also encouraging users to add birthdays so users can see them on their birthday calendar and get helpful cues from the contacts app and across other services.
If you have received this update, then we recommend you install it now to get the birthday notifications feature. Once you install the update, you may see a new Highlights tab when you open the Google Contacts app. This tab has ‘Add Birthday’ written on it and you can see it in the For You section.
If you want to add, then tap on Add Birthdays option. Now, you come to a list UI that is optimized for fast, mass date entry. You can see a cake icon that appears next to people with no birthdays, and you can add that information by scrolling through the month, day, and year.
To turn on the notification, you just need to open an individual contact and tap on the Overflow Menu and select Add birthday notification.

WhatsApp brings group and unread Chat Filters for better organization
WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called Chat Filters to enhance the user experience. This feature simplifies the process of navigating through messages, making it quick and effortless. With the increasing volume of messages on WhatsApp, the ability to quickly access them is important.
The Chat Filters feature of WhatsApp helps users organize their chats better and focus on the most pressing conversations. The rollout of these filters has begun and will be available to all users in the upcoming weeks.
By tapping on these filters at the top of the chat list, users can sort their messages with ease. It offers three convenient options:
All: This filter shows every message or we can say a default view of all
Unread: This filter highlights conversations that require attention, displaying both marked unread and new messages.
Groups: It contains all group conversations, including Community subgroups, in one place. This filter is much-anticipated addition for organizing all group chats.
With the introduction of the Chat Filters feature, WhatsApp aims to improve functionality and ensure users can focus on their most important messages.
