WhatsApp will soon bring Edit Message button to Android app

WhatsApp devs are continuously working to bring new features to the messaging platform. In a recent development, some WhatsApp accounts gained the ability to let users Edit sent messages. This suggests, the feature is under testing and rollout is imminent.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.10.13 update is allowing some users to Edit sent messages within personal chats and groups. This is the same feature that Telegram introduced for consumers way back in 2016.

On some accounts running WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.10.13, you may get the Edit button. To check the presence, simply tap and hold on to a single message within WhatsApp chat, and then click the Hamburger menu to expand options. Here, you should see the newly added Edit button.
At present, the Edit message feature works until 15 minutes from the time of sending a message. After that, you won’t be able to add, remove or fix the text. To further specify, the edited message will be labeled with “Edited” the same as Telegram Android.
As it’s under development, WhatsApp may further enhance the usability and functionality of this new Edit function. As soon as the rollout begins on Stable channel, your Samsung Galaxy will also be eligible to download and install the new build with editing capability.

WhatsApp might allow texting a WhatsApp user without WhatsApp account

WhatsApp might soon allow you to contact a user on WhatsApp even without having a WhatsApp account. To comply with the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, WhatsApp reportedly began making changes in the application, which will bring the third-party chats feature.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.19.8 update embeds a new section dedicated to the new regulations. Since the third-party chats section is under development, it appears empty and it’s not accessible to users.

This third-party chats feature is likely to let other people contact users on WhatsApp even if they don’t have a WhatsApp account. In case someone from Signal wants to get in touch with you but doesn’t have a WhatsApp account, they will still be able to text you.
Third-party chat support is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app.
