One UI 5 Watch OS Features for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5
Enhanced Sleep Management
With One UI 5 Watch, Samsung further enhances the sleep management function as the company emphasizes on understanding individual sleep patterns, inculcating healthy habits, creating an optimized sleep environment, and allowing users to sleep better.
Users can now view various sleep reminders from existing Galaxy smartphones on Galaxy Watch. In addition, the company improved Sleep Insight UI to puts the user’s sleep score at the top of the screen, providing the previous night’s sleep duration and sleep quality.
Personalized Fitness features
One UI 5 Watch delivers personalized exercise guidance based on the user’s heart rate zone. Users can measure cardiorespiratory capacity through the Galaxy Watch. Maximum oxygen uptake and individual heart rate intervals are set based on aerobic and anaerobic thresholds when the user walks for 10 minutes.
Based on the user’s personal cardiorespiratory capacity as measured in this way, the Galaxy Watch provides personalized “heart rate zones” from Zone 1 to Zone 5. Consumers can choose the appropriate heart rate zone for their own purposes for exercise.
- Zone 1 – Slowest heart rate zone and is good for warm-ups.
- Zone 2 – Fat burn
- Zone 3 – Cardio
- Zone 4 – Moderate high-intensity exercise.
- Zone 5 – Maximum effort
On the other hand, the GPX (GPS Exchange Format) route guidance function available through the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has also been enhanced. Running and walking have been added to existing sports types such as hiking and cycling, allowing users to more easily track their location during exercise.

Samsung improved the SOS function with One UI Watch 5 OS. In addition, a new function has been added that allows the user to press the Home button of the Galaxy Watch five times in a row to determine if the call is connected and dial 119 or other emergency calls in case of emergency.
Furthermore, when a help request is made using an emergency number such as 119, a button on the Galaxy Watch screen provides direct access to the user’s medical information. In order to provide information, users must register their medical information in advance.
