Samsung Galaxy S23 grabs new One UI update with May 2023 security patch
Samsung starts rolling out the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra. The latest security patch is already rolling out in a number of markets including Poland. It’s great to see that the company has not delayed the rollout, which was speculated by some.
According to the info, Samsung consumers can verify the May 2023 security update via PDA build version S911BXXS1AWD1, S916BXXS1AWD1, and S918BXXS1AWD1 for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, respectively.
Earlier, Samsung revealed what’s new in its May 2023 update for Galaxy devices. Per the date shared, May SMR brings fixes for over 55 common vulnerability exposures and 21 Samsung vulnerability exposures to maintain security on Galaxy smartphones.
Last month, Samsung served major camera firmware to the Galaxy S23 series along with a number of flagship models. Some issues related to camera performance are yet to be resolved, while the May OTA appears to be including just improvements for security and privacy.
Google rolled out Android 13’s May 2023 update yesterday, bringing the latest patches to Pixel smartphones. The company has also begun the Wear OS 3.5’s May update rollout, which is yet to be delivered to the Galaxy Watch models running Wear OS 3.5.
Pixel phone users are lucky as always as Android 14 is available through Beta program. How to update:
You can force update installation on your Galaxy S23 smartphone by navigating to system Settings, then tapping on Software update, followed by Download and install. If the new OTA is available in your country or carrier, hit download/install now and finish with a simple restart.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series is getting a new update with April 2024 security Patch in Korea. The fresh update enhances the system security and adds a new feature of the Samsung Wallet app to provide a smoother performance.
April 2024 update for Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones in Korea can be identified through One UI build version G991NKSU4FXD3, G996NKSU4FXD3, and G998NKSU4FXD3 respectively.
The latest update includes a new feature within the Samsung Wallet app, which now supports a ‘Mobile ID’ function. This function allows users to add their mobile driver’s licenses and national veterans registration cards to their Samsung Wallet.
These digital IDs are officially issued by the government and can be used just like physical ID cards, both online and offline. However, it is important to note that only IC cards marked with a mobile ID icon are eligible to be added.
In addition to the ‘Mobile ID’ feature, the update also includes the latest Google security patch for the stabilization of security features. Users of the Galaxy S21 series in Korea can now enjoy these benefits after installing the new update through Settings >> Software Updates >> Download and Install.

Samsung has acknowledged the Quick Panel issue in its latest One UI 6.1 update that is affecting users. The issue unexpectedly activates the quick panel when users interact with notifications or try to access detailed views. This problem has been a cause of inconvenience for many Galaxy users.
The tech giant has assured its users that a fix is in the works. A community moderator said the company apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this bug and has promised to deliver a software update to resolve the Quick panel issue on One UI 6.1 devices.
