Samsung plans weeks early release of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5

Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 about four weeks early. Usually, the company launches its foldable phones in mid-August and releases them in late August, however, it doesn’t seem to continue this year.

According to a Korean media report, Samsung is planning an early release schedule (by four weeks) for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The report says that sources believe the company could unveil and begin releasing the products within July 2023.

During the earning announcement call, Samsung MX Divisions MD said that the company will continue to sell existing models through foldable reboot marketing while raising awareness, and preparing for the release of new models in the second half of the year.

Notably, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 were released in August 2022. Solely in South Korea, pre-orders recorded 970,000 units, renewing the highest record for a foldable phone. In the European market, it is evaluated as a box office success, with sales more than twice that of its predecessor.

Early release makes sense

Hopefully, the semiconductor industry could improve in the second half of the year. From the standpoint of Samsung Electronics, a situation has been created in which the rescue pitcher Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 foldable smartphones will be launched early.

The Galaxy S23 series sold like hotcakes in the first quarter, however, Samsung already predicted a fall in sales in the second quarter. Moreover, Google’s first Pixel Fold phone is launching in May 2023 along with some Chinese products in the second quarter.

Analysts say that Samsung will not be able to help but be conscious of the diversified lineup of foldable phones, unlike last year, or the position that “nothing has been confirmed yet” regarding the early release of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5.

Samsung is bringing a meaningful camera upgrade to the upcoming Galaxy A35 5G. A new report reveals that the company’s new mid-range smartphone will have a 50-megapixel primary camera. Earlier mid-range Galaxy phones use 48 or 64-megapixel sensors.

Last year, Samsung’s Galaxy A54 5G switched to a 50-megapixel camera, ditching the conventional sensor. However, the Galaxy A35 5G appears to be sharing the same 50-megapixel primary camera as its elder sibling, the Galaxy A55 5G.

A user managed to check the temperature of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which registered over 100-degree Fahrenheit. The model is getting warm even without using it as well as sometimes minutes after connecting the USB C-Type charging cable.

Notably, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with A17 Pro chipset. This processor is manufactured by Taiwan’s TSMC on the cutting-edge 3nm process technology. Apple recommends users not charge their iPhone with Android’s USB C cable, while the overheating reports continue to emerge.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series in February, while the Galaxy S24 series is reportedly coming earlier. Recently, Korean media reported that the parts production for Samsung’s Galaxy S24 smartphones could begin in mid-October.

According to a reliable source, Samsung may launch the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024. The tipster claims the devices may be unveiled around January 18, but it’s not confirmed. Notably, Korean media reports that the S24 series will go official a month earlier than this year.

The South Korean tech giant believes that the early debut of its next-gen Galaxy S flagships will help counter the success of the iPhone 15 series. Following the release, Apple is securing outstanding consumer response towards its iPhone 15 series internationally.

Next year’s Galaxy S flagship lineup will present three models – S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra. Samsung appears to be bringing back the in-house Exynos 2400 chipset, but the Ultra will solely use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, manufactured by TSMC.
