Possible Samsung One UI 6 (Android 14) features tipped

Samsung will bring Android 14 OS to Galaxy devices with the One UI 6 version later this year. Since the Beta program of One UI 6 is expected to start in July, a tipster revealed some of the features that will possibly be a part of the new software iteration for Galaxy.

According to the info, the One UI 6 software could introduce a new battery performance tab, improved Android security, Samsung Pay support in airplane mode, and more. The tipster noted that the One UI 6 for Galaxy is “currently being developed like an AOD for the iPhone.”

The cryptic comment regarding AOD leaves us in confusion about whether the One UI 6 will bring iOS-like Always On Display, or if it’s just a preference of saying the very initial stage of development. Meanwhile, there are possibilities of upgrades in the AOD, which remained untouched in the recent past.

The idea of enabling Samsung Pay in airplane mode is great, which will enable users to make payments everywhere they go. To make it possible, the company could collaborate with industry giants, while the feature availability may remain limited to select markets.

Always On Display is a stunning feature, which requires essential upgrades with the One UI 6. The existing version was not refreshed with One UI 5, so we believe Samsung will add new features and customization capabilities in order to stand out against rival ROMs.

Google brings new security and privacy features with each new Android version, therefore, it’s not a surprising hint that One UI 6 will have improved Android security. The Pixel-maker is rapidly working on the development of Android 14 as well as the refinement of security features.

The Android 14 could go official sometime in late July or early August 2023. In the same timeframe, we may see the preview of One UI 6 through the Beta program on select Galaxy flagship models. One UI 6.0 may be unveiled at SDC23 in October this year.
