Here’s when Samsung could start ONE UI 6 BETA

Samsung One UI Beta Program has always been one of the most anticipated activities for Galaxy users. This year, Samsung will bring the Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta to Galaxy flagship phones in certain markets, but when? Here’s what we guess seeing previous Beta records:
One UI 5 Beta
Last year, Samsung started the One UI 5 Beta program, based on Android 13 in the first week of August. As mentioned above, the Galaxy S22 series was the first to get it in the South Korean market and the company gradually expanded the markets and models later on.
One UI 4 Beta
In the second week of September, Samsung announced the launch of the Android 12-based One UI 4 Beta program. Starting with the Galaxy S21 series, the company invited Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 flagships along with the 2021 foldable phones.
Samsung says, the One UI Beta Program allows users to try out upgraded features ahead of the official release. The latest Galaxy smartphone users in select markets will be able to preview the next-gen One UI software’s design and features and submit feedback.

One UI 6 Beta could be available for Samsung devices just around the timeframe of the official Android 14 launch. For instance, if Google launches Android 14 to AOSP in mid-August 2023, Samsung is expected to seed the One UI 6 Beta on Galaxy S23 in early August.
As Samsung is rapidly speeding up its software updates game, we guess, the Android 14’s Galaxy-exclusive Beta could be available for the Galaxy S23 series as soon as the OS reaches the platform stability landmark. Google hopes to gain Android 14’s platform stability landmark in late July.
S21 was the first to get Android 12-based One UI 4 Beta, while the S22 got treated with Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta first. Naturally, the S23 series is going to be the initial member of Samsung’s 2023 One UI Beta Program to test Android 14 ahead of release.
“We know our users crave the ability to create their own individual mobile experience and we’re constantly looking to improve One UI to give people greater control and more options,” said Samsung during the One UI 5 Beta launch.
One UI 6 Beta for the Galaxy S23 series may go live in early August 2023.

Samsung confirms One UI 6 and Good Lock features finding underway

The Android 14 update is too away from Galaxy devices, while Samsung just confirmed that the development of One UI 6 and new Good Lock features is underway. Through a community post today, Good Lock’s manager revealed this info, which talks about the next One UI version months ahead.
According to Samsung’s Good Lock manager, the developers are “still” working hard to discover useful features and develop One UI 6. This cryptic quote hints at both the new Android 14-based One UI version and Good Lock’s version 2024.

Ahead of its debut, the company’s moderator announced that they are working hard to share the news of the Good Lock team through Good Lock News in Terrace/Good Lock Diary/Working Good Lock. And notably, there were a lot of people who especially enjoyed the diary.
In addition to revealing One UI 6 progress, Samsung announced annual Good Lock event.
One UI 6 Good Lock
As Samsung teased the One UI 6 and Good Lock’s news together, we expect the customization suite may also get an early launch. Notably, most of the Good Lock plugins will stop working following the Beta software installation, which requires major code changes to resume operation.
The company may introduce One UI 6 Beta next month, starting with the Galaxy S23 series. Good Lock will not be compatible with the Android 14 OS due to which, some plugins and stops will no longer remain accessible. Therefore, you will have to wait until stable software, followed by major app updates.

The source added that Samsung’s stable Android 14 update will be available in October. This is the same timeframe as the last year’s UI rollout, with the latest Galaxy S lineup will be the first to secure it. Meanwhile, the Beta activity is seeing an early debut if everything goes as planned by the internals.
With the first One UI 6 Beta, the South Korean tech giant could just install the Android 14 OS to Galaxy S23. Later Beta builds are likely to bring new features and user interface upgrades, just like the last year. Through this, the company will ensure a seamless device experience for Beta testers too.
