Samsung has started pushing the April 2023 security update for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones in the Middle East including South Arabia. This update is already available in Europe, Brazil, Bolivia, Trinidad, Tobago, and the US.
Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphones are grabbing the latest April 2023 security update with One UI build version G98xBXXUGHWCG in the Middle East. The latest firmware improves Camera and Gallery functions.
As per the changelog, April 2023 security patch brings fixes for over 60 security flaws, including 5 critical, 46 high, and one moderate level of CVEs. The latest firmware also enhances system security and stability to make your Galaxy S20 device more secure.
Although no new changes or features are mentioned in the changelog but the package size of this update is big, so it is expected to bring new features like Image Clipper for the Gallery app. You can see the changes after installing the latest version.

Samsung Galaxy S24 grabs ‘crucial’ October 2024 update in the US
Samsung Galaxy S24 series has started receiving the October 2024 security update in the US. AT&T has rolled out the latest patch for its carrier-branded S24 devices. This crucial firmware update aims to improve system security and stability.
Earlier today, Samsung published the October 2024 security patch details. The company highlighted how significant the October patch is for Galaxies. Shortly after, the company’s high-end flagships grabbed the latest patches.
October 2024 SMR update for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series includes fixes for 2 critical and 28 high-level CVEs. Additionally, the update addresses 12 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items for further improvements.
CVE-2024-44068
Samsung’s changelog mentions only the inclusion of the October patch. Meanwhile, the company highlighted on its security page that it addresses CVE-2024-44068 from the Samsung Semiconductor Division.
The common vulnerability exposure is rated as HIGH leveled flaw, with the description reading “A Use-After-Free in the mobile processor leads to privilege escalation.” The affected chipsets are Exynos 9820, 9825, 980, 990, 850, W920.
How to install:
Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra users can easily install the October patch. Head towards Settings, followed by Software update and Download and install. Ensure connectivity to an unmetered connection for seamless installation.
One UI 7 Beta
Samsung confirmed One UI 7 Beta will launch by the end of this year. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be invited in the first phase of the rollout. The Beta will also be available for general consumers apart from the Developers’ community.
The final version will be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked next year.
