Samsung News app officially launched for millions of Galaxy device users. As an update to Samsung Free, the Samsung News Beta will be rolled out to Galaxy consumers in the US. To trigger a manual installation, you can open the Galaxy Store >> Updates and follow further instructions.

Thanks to the brand-new Samsung News app, consumers will enjoy a breadth of trusted news sources to create an everyday news experience in one convenient place. Galaxy users can get the daily news they want from Samsung News with morning and evening briefings and custom feeds.

It can be considered a big attack on the Google Discover feed, which almost dominated its place on the -1 screen on Galaxy devices. With upgraded capabilities and enhanced experience, Samsung News is ready to put Google Discover in hibernation as it was on during Free days.

If you are already using Samsung Free on a -1 screen, you will notice revamped UI and app logo. However, all other users will be able to download the app directly from the Galaxy Store. At first, the feature will be available on select phones, and in the coming weeks, it will roll out to more supported devices.

News Sources

The South Korean tech giant announced that the Samsung News app will initially provide access to news content from a wide range of partners, including Bloomberg Media, CNN, Fortune, Fox News, Glamour, GQ, HuffPost, Money, Newsweek, New York Post, Parade, POLITICO, Refinery29, Reuters, Salon, Slate, Sports Illustrated, The Daily Beast, TheStreet, USA TODAY, and Vice.

Additional news sources will be added to the app over time through Samsung’s syndication partner, upday.
