Samsung expanding April 2023 update to Galaxy S20 FE 5G in more markets
Last week, Samsung rolled out the April 2023 security update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone in the US. Now, the company is expanding the update to more countries.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G phone is now receiving the April 2023 security update in Brazil. The latest software update for the 5G variant of Galaxy S20 FE comes with firmware version G781BXXS5HWCA and an updated package size of 272.80 megabytes.
The April 2023 security patch is also installed through this update, which fixes over 60 security flaws, including the ones affecting Exynos chips and modems. The update may also include general bug fixes and stability improvements.
Going by the firmware version, this new Galaxy S20 FE 5G update just brings the monthly security patch to the device. It is an incremental update so it does not bring any new features or changes.
If you have a Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone and you live in Brazil then, you can download the new update by navigating to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install option.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series has started receiving the October 2024 security update in the US. AT&T has rolled out the latest patch for its carrier-branded S24 devices. This crucial firmware update aims to improve system security and stability.
Earlier today, Samsung published the October 2024 security patch details. The company highlighted how significant the October patch is for Galaxies. Shortly after, the company’s high-end flagships grabbed the latest patches.
October 2024 SMR update for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series includes fixes for 2 critical and 28 high-level CVEs. Additionally, the update addresses 12 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items for further improvements.
CVE-2024-44068
Samsung’s changelog mentions only the inclusion of the October patch. Meanwhile, the company highlighted on its security page that it addresses CVE-2024-44068 from the Samsung Semiconductor Division.
The common vulnerability exposure is rated as HIGH leveled flaw, with the description reading “A Use-After-Free in the mobile processor leads to privilege escalation.” The affected chipsets are Exynos 9820, 9825, 980, 990, 850, W920.
How to install:
Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra users can easily install the October patch. Head towards Settings, followed by Software update and Download and install. Ensure connectivity to an unmetered connection for seamless installation.

One UI 7 Beta
Samsung confirmed One UI 7 Beta will launch by the end of this year. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be invited in the first phase of the rollout. The Beta will also be available for general consumers apart from the Developers’ community.
The final version will be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked next year.
