Samsung Health app update

Samsung will begin a ‘Health Collaboration Project’ at Samsung.com’s eFood Hall from 17 April 2023, showcasing new trends in healthcare in everyday life. Through this project, consumers will be able to access a wide range of services from smart medical care to personalized diet management services.

The company used the Galaxy Watch and Samsung Health app for this project as well as collaborated with Hyundai Green Food’s healthy food ‘Greating’. It is worth mentioning that the body composition measurement function is limited to the Galaxy Watch 5 Series and 4 Series and is only used for fitness and general health management.

Samsung Health Collaboration Project

First, Galaxy Watch 5 Series and Watch 4 Series users can easily measure their body composition at any time and view the results in the Samsung Health app. After that, you can easily choose the healthy food that suits you according to the measured data in Samsung.com eFood Hall.

The food hall collaborates with nutritionists from Hyundai Green Food to sell approximately 80 types of healthy food based on the three key nutrients – carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. It plans to launch an integrated smart health solution that links exercise and diet, such as the easy ordering of recommended meals and providing customized recipes.

Furthermore, in celebration of Family Month, e-Food Hall Family Week runs until the 14th of next month, where you can meet families with healthy food at unconventional prices.

Through this campaign, current Samsung membership fellows and new members can use coupons to purchase high-protein nutritious foods such as beef soup, bulgogi, protein snacks, and bottled water for 100 won.

According to the Vice President Kim Seong-wook, Head of Marketing Team at Samsung Electronics Korea:

We introduced the Health Collaboration Project as consumer demand for fun and convenient health management anytime, anywhere increased. We hope that the entire family will create a healthy daily life through the Samsung.com e-food hall, where you can purchase care food.

Google Messages adds waveforms to Voice Recorder UI

Google Messages app Voice recorder ui

Google Messages is getting a new look for its voice recorder UI. The microphone icon in the text field will change to a waveform icon, which is different from the voice typing button in Gboard.

Instead of holding down the mic to record, you will now see a panel with a start/stop button and options to cancel, delete, or attach the recording. You will also see a waveform and a timer while recording, and you can play back the recording before sending it.

The voice messages preview will also show a waveform between the play/pause button and the timer, making it more noticeable than the current straight line.

These changes are not widely available yet, but some users have reported seeing them on their phones. These new changes are part of a bigger redesign that Google is working on for Messages, which includes a revamped home screen that is still in beta testing. Google might announce new features soon.
