Google Voice app for Android is now getting Material You tweaks with the latest update. The redesigned Google Voice app features a tall Material You bottom bar, which employs pill-shaped indicators to note your current tab. Also, the floating action button has changed from a circle into a rounded square.

In addition, the navigation drawer has been revamped with a rounded top and bottom corners along with a wider panel. The app’s update brings a pill-shaped “Search Google Voice” field at the top of the screen so you can get tasks done conveniently.

It’s noteworthy that the Material You-inspired Dynamic Color is applied across the Google Voice app’s user interface, ditching the current Gray-ish shade. Also, when you’re viewing a conversation, the status and app bars are not merged.

Besides this, the Voice app’s home screen widgets also flaunt new Dynamic Theming design language as background and modernized shapes, thanks to Material You. Last month, Google updated the Tasks app with Material You colors after a number of Workspace apps.

WhatsApp has released a new update for Android users, which introduces a helpful new feature that allows users to message people directly from their status updates. The new beta update arrives with version 2.25.9.6 through the Google Play Beta Program.

Before this update, if you wanted to message someone who had viewed your status, you had to leave the status screen, search for the contact in your chat list, and open the chat. This process could take time.

The fresh beta update solves this by adding a shortcut in the viewer’s list, which lets you quickly open the chat with that person. With just a tap, you can directly go to the chat window and start messaging.

With this new feature, WhatsApp is making it even easier to interact with contacts and follow up on status updates. Currently, the send message from status feature is under testing, and only beta users can enjoy it.

However, it will be rolled out to more users in the upcoming weeks. Once it becomes available, users will be able to message contacts directly from their status update screen, which makes conversations faster and more convenient.

Samsung SmartThings new update

Samsung has rolled out a new update for its SmartThings app, bringing a minor yet notable tweak to the widget interface. The update, identified by version 1.8.29.24, is now available for download on Galaxy devices via the Galaxy Store.

The fresh update primarily aims to enhance the user experience by reorganizing the layout of Routines widgets. It makes the widget interface of the Samsung SmartThings app clearer.

Previously, SmartThings users had their Routines widgets split into three separate groups, which could be a little confusing. With this new update, Samsung has combined these widgets into one unified section to make it easier for users to manage and interact with their routines.

To get the update, Galaxy users just need to go to the Galaxy Store, tap the Menu option, and then select Updates. If you already have the SmartThings app, you can easily install the latest version and start using the new features now.
