Samsung Galaxy S22 and S21 will get Image Clipper feature next month: Tipster

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series received the Galaxy S23 series’ One UI 5.1 firmware, but Samsung didn’t deliver the Image Clipper feature. Meanwhile, a tipster just claimed that the April 2023 update for Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 will bring the Image Clipper feature.

According to @Tech_Reve, the Image Clipper feature is not too away from your Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, S22 Ultra, S21, S21, or S21 Ultra smartphone. Next month, the company will distribute this Galaxy S23-exclusive feature to older Galaxy models.

Since the tipster mentioned only the Galaxy S22 and S21 series, the company’s 2020 flagship lineups (S20 & Note 20) may have to wait until May 2023. That said, April is going to be a big month for Galaxy devices, as the S23 series is likely to receive a big camera focussed firmware.

Image Clipper

Introduced at the Galaxy Unpacked 2023, the Galaxy S23 series’ Image Clipper feature allows you to grab a subject from any image or video. This feature is inspired by Apple iOS and makes it easier to create custom stickers and remove backgrounds from well-focussed object images.

Image Clipper is a photo cutout feature, which works with the Samsung Gallery application. From any photo, you can grab the cutout of the subject by just tapping and holding on to it. However, you can also do the same with videos, just make sure to pause the stream before tapping and holding.

Galaxy S21 and S22 SW Flashback

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series have received the One UI 5.1 features with February 2023 update. Later, the company rolled out the March 2023 security patch with functional optimization and bug fixes to ensure a seamless user experience.

Next month, several Galaxy devices will get the April 2023 update, which may be a big deal for Samsung’s Galaxy S series. Since Android 14 is months away, the Korean tech giant is making Galaxy users happy by sharing the remaining Galaxy S23 features.
