Samsung Expert RAW September 2023

Expert RAW is a downloadable application offered by Samsung with support available for select Galaxy devices. It allows you to take high-quality, high-dynamic range photos by supporting 16-bit computational RAW for professional shooting and editing.

With One UI 5.1, Samsung has added Expert RAW to the stock camera itself for easy access it. Now you can open the Expert RAW by visiting the Samsung Camera app and changing the camera modes to the More option.

Samsung Expert RaW support

The various modes provided by the Galaxy Camera are used for different purposes. The most basic Photo Mode provides photos for everyday recording or storage purposes by applying the best quality according to the situation, and Pro Mode adjusts camera settings according to the user’s intent to capture the sensor’s raw results.

However, it is not easy to use for professional photography due to its weak brightness and noise characteristics, producing only raw data from the sensor of mobile devices.

Therefore, through multi-processing technology, noise is reduced, sharpness and detail are enhanced, and dynamic range is expanded to provide “Expert RAW” so that more information from dark to bright areas can be captured in a single frame.

Samsung Expert RAW support is available for limited Galaxy devices, you can check below to see if your device is eligible.
