According to Ice’s specs leak, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 will feature new waterdrop (droplet) hinge design along with support for IPX8 rating for water resistance. The new hinge design will reportedly make foldable phones slimmer as well as reduce the crease wrinkes.

Moreover, the source said that the size of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold5 is just 0.2mm different from its predecessor. It’s said that the gap will disappear after folding, which will make it thinner, reducing the thickness to 13. x mm, thanks to Samsung’s new hinge technology.

Talking about cover display, the Galaxy Z Fold5 won’t get any upgrades, while its not the same case for the Galaxy Z Flip5. As per the leak, the company’s next clamshell style phone could have a square outer screen of about 3.4 inches, covering the most area of the upside part.

Both smartphones may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, which offers great performance and longer battery life compared to predecessor. For your info, the same processor powers the recently released Galaxy S23 flagships.

The leak further claims 254 grams weight of the Galaxy Z Fold5, narrower bezels on the inner screen of the Galaxy Z Flip5 and new touch screen technology, possibly upgraded ultra thin glass technology. Since the launch is months away, we will get to know more about these phones in the coming days.
