Samsung has started to deliver the One UI 5.1 update for Galaxy A71 5G smartphones. The update is initially released in South Korea, however, customers living in other countries should soon get access to it.

It’s worth mentioning that One UI 5.1 is the last major software update for the Galaxy A71 smartphones launched in 2019. The smartphone came with the Android 10-based One UI 2 operating system and was later upgraded to Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13.

Since the phone is only eligible for three major updates, the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 is its last big Android update. After this, consumers will only get security patch updates for a year.

Anyways, the One UI 5.1 update installs dozens of new features and improvements to the Samsung Galaxy A71 smartphones. Although there are no notable user interface changes.

One UI 5.1 features highlights:

To begin with, Samsung One UI 5.1 makes it easy to change the color tone of selfies through the Effects button on the side of the screen. It brings a new Common family album to the Gallery app that makes picture sharing easier with family or friends.

It further adds more powerful searches to search pictures of a specific person, a convenient information display in landscape mode, improved handling, and more to the Gallery.

On the other side, the company has also improved multitasking for the Galaxy A71 customers. In a Pop-up view, you can now adjust the size of the window by dragging the window edge in any direction. In the meantime, you will see categories for recent apps and Most used apps, allowing you to quickly select apps for Split-Screen.

The Widgets section is also receiving major improvements with the addition of new Battery Widgets that shows the battery status of the phone and connected devices on the screen. The Weather widget and Smart Suggestion widget are also improved with meaningful changes.

The Bixby Text Call feature now supports the English language, Samsung Internet supports the ‘Continue using app on other devices’ feature, the Wallpaper section is getting the ability to select a video clip to use as your wallpaper, and more.
