Edge Panel is one of the useful features Samsung is offering for years. Over time, the company has significantly improved it with the addition of new panels and more abilities to manage them. The One UI 5.1 is here and it also brings some praiseworthy changes to the Edge Panel.

Samsung Edge Panels act like shortcuts for various functions. It lets you access your favorite apps, tools, widgets weather, contact, calculator, open split-screen, and much more with just a simple swipe from almost every screen.

One UI 5.1 Edge Panel:

Well, Samsung hasn’t added any new panels to the section nor has it brought additional settings to manage the panels or the panel handle. It only brings design improvements to some of the panels and they now look quite great.

First spotted by V3trox360, Samsung has brought a dark black and blurred design to more edge panels. When you turn your display mode to dark and open the edge panels, you will clearly see the changes.

The background of the panels has turned dark black and is a little blurred which is nice compared to the One UI 5.0’s light black background. However, not every panel is getting this change. Some panels, such as Music, Reminders, and Smart select are left to be upgraded to the new theme.

However, we believe that Samsung will also change the background color of the rest of these panels with the upcoming software update. It’s great to see that the company is slowly killing the outdated gray color background. Users are linking it as well as waiting for the new theme to reach other edge panels as well.
