It’s only been a few years since Samsung introduced its first foldable display smartphone and currently, the company’s foldables are some of the best devices in the industry. Samsung is constantly experimenting with new display types and as a result, it trademarks the FlexMirror display.

On February 6, 2023, Samsung made an entry of “FlexMirror” on the KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service) database, which suggests that the company is experimenting with a new display type.

The database does not reveal any information about FlexMirror nor does it suggest the actual purpose of such a display. However, ‘flex’ is usually related to foldable or rollable displays, so we can assume that Samsung trademarks the FlexMirror display for its future foldable or rollable smartphones.

The name of the product suggets that the display may have some reflective properties. On the other hand, it may also be possible that the company is hiding something behind the name and could introduce a unique display variant in the future. Let’s wait and see what actually it is.

Besides this, Samsung recently showcases the world’s first “Flex Hybrid” which combines two innovative technologies – the foldable and the slideable. This product uses folding technology on the left side of the screen and sliding technology on the right side.

When folded to the left, the screen measures 10.5 inches with a 4.3 aspect ratio. It has a 16:10 ratio screen and a large 12.4-inch screen when stretched to the right. One can get an amazing experience of movies and YouTube on the display.
