Samsung introduced the much anticipated Galaxy S23 series smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event on February 1 as well as started taking pre-orders of the devices with a lot of benefits and great trade-in values. Seems like customers living in India are taking full advantage of the early Galaxy S23 series deals as Samsung sees record-breaking pre-orders in the country.

ET Telecom has recently reported that Samsung India has received twice the pre-orders for the Galaxy S23 smartphones compared to last year’s Galaxy S22, indicating that the demand for flagship phones is still high in the country.

Samsung India achieved this success despite a price hike, which explains its popularity and trust in the country. For your information, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra prices in India start at INR 79,999, INR 94,999, and INR 124,999, respectively.

Raju Pullan, Samsung India’s Senior VP said, “We have received almost 1,40,000 pre-books of the Galaxy S23 series within the first 24 hours of opening pre-bookings.”

Aditya Babbar, Senior Director of Samsung India Mobile Business said, “The higher amount of pre-bookings have been Ultra focused.”

Assuming the average price of INR 1 lakh (~ $1,200) for each Galaxy S23 unit, pre-bookings of around INR 1,400 crore (~ $169 million) devices add up in less than 24 hours. This comes after the company increased its marketing and retail expansion by 1.5 times.

The senior director further explained that the expansion of its digital lending platform Samsung Finance+ and increased touchpoints in smaller cities to experience its smartphones have helped the company double the number of premium smartphones in the country.
