Here’s how to fix Samsung SmartThings app crashing issue

Some users are reportedly not able to properly use the Samsung SmartThings app on their Galaxy smartphones as it keeps crashing or closing automatically. If you are also facing a crashing issue with the Samsung SmartThings app then for now, you can fix it by disabling some settings.

It is worth noting that Samsung kicked off a new update for the SmartThings app in mid-January 2023, which arrives with version V1.7.94.21. After this SmartThings version or V1.7.93.26 installation, an app crashing issue appeared on several Galaxy smartphones.

How to fix SmartThings app crashing issue?

Solution 1: Disable the ‘Remove animation’ option

Users who have activated the remove animation setting can disable it so that this crushing issue can be resolved. Check the steps below to disable this option.

  • Firstly, open the Settings app on your Galaxy device.
  • Scroll down and tap on Accessibility.

  • Click on the Visibility enhancements.

  • Scroll down and find the Remove animation option.

  • Tap on the toggle to turn it off.

Solution 2: Animation length Multiplier for Developers mode.

If you are using developers mode and disabled the animation length scaling feature then turn it on. Open Settings >> Developers option >> Animation length scale >> Set it.
