Exclusive: One UI 5.1 update won’t bring Galaxy S23’s Fast Pair feature to older Samsung devices
Samsung is going to further improve its Android 13-based One UI skin with the One UI 5.1 version. With the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung will be introducing the expansion of Android’s Fast Pair feature, while, One UI 5.1 will not bring it to older Galaxy devices.
Earlier, it was spotted that Google and Samsung are going to showcase their partnership at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy S23 series would bring Android’s Fast Pair feature, which allows customers to quickly set up and get accounts even without typing anything.

Out of the box, the Galaxy S23 series runs One UI 5.1 software and Samsung will be delivering it to older Galaxy devices, with plenty of new features. Well, there’s a catch as a new feature is going to be exclusively available for the next-gen Galaxy S lineup.

Reliable Samsung source @SamsonUpdate shared exclusive information with us that you should know. According to the source, the Fast Pair feature will be introduced with the Galaxy S23 series. And notably, it will not be included in the One UI 5.1 update for previously released Galaxy devices.
In the Setup Wizard, it will allow to scan a QR code and automatically transfer from an old device a number of credentials for items including Google and Samsung accounts, saved Wi-Fi networks. It requires Bluetooth Low Energy to work, made for S23 and future models.#OneUI5.1

One UI 5.1 brings Android’s Fast Pair-derived feature to the Galaxy S23’s Setup Wizard. Using it, you can transfer all necessary accounts by scanning a QR Code (such as Google and Samsung accounts) along with saved Wi-Fi passwords even without typing a single word from your old Galaxy or Android phone.
The reason behind the exclusivity of this feature is the requirement of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) as well as it is made for the Galaxy S23 series. Naturally, future Galaxy flagships such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 would come with an integrated Fast Pair feature.
Samsung has initiated the release of Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A14 5G smartphone. The update is rolling out in some Asian countries including India and Indonesia.
One UI 6.1 update for Samsung Galaxy A14 5G smartphone arrives with One UI build version A146PXXU7DXD3 and an installation package size of 1.6GB. The update is rolling out gradually so it may take hours or days to reach all models.
The update introduces a bundle of enhancements for the Galaxy A14 along with the April 2024 security patch. Notably, it lacks the Galaxy AI features of flagships but comes with amazing capabilities.
Users can now copy and paste objects between images, enjoy improved image clipping, and search within the Gallery app. The video editor allows for playback speed adjustments and project exports for cross-device editing. It also brings new lock screen widgets, customizable alarm alerts with AR Emoji, revamped Calendar app settings section, and more.
Overall the update enhances the Galaxy A14 5G experience with creative editing tools, personalization options, and security enhancements to make it a more versatile and secure device.
To install and install the update, open Settings>> Software Updates >> Download and install.

In addition to South Korea and Germany, Samsung has now launched the Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta in the US. Users of carrier-unlocked or T-Mobile branded Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, or S23 Ultra smartphones can now sign up to get the Beta firmware via OTA.
It’s worth mentioning that the One UI 6 Beta is only available for T-Mobile and carrier-unlocked Galaxy S23 models in the US. This means Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular, and other carrier users have no other option than waiting for the official rollout.
One UI 6 Beta comes with a redesigned Quick Panel, which looks stunning and well-crafted for accessibility. The animations are also tweaked but require further optimization as the current situation of transition effects is not up to the mark.
