[S20 too] Samsung Galaxy Note 20 gets Android 13 in the US (Unlocked T-Mobile)

It’s been a long when Samsung originally rolled out the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for Galaxy Note 20 smartphones. But the carrier-unlocked models of the Galaxy Note 20 in the US are now getting the Android 13 update on the T-Mobile network.

  • Update [Jan. 30] The major firmware update is now available for carrier-unlocked Galaxy S20 and S20 Ultra smartphone users having T-Mobile network in the US as well. Notably, a Galaxy S20 Plus user said that the update has not yet arrived.

Samsung is releasing this major software update for the corresponding device owners with a lot of new features, multiple improvements, and various advanced customization capabilities. At the same time, it also brings impressive tweaks to the user interface.

On the other hand, the company installs the December 2022 Android security patch on the devices. It’s not the latest but isn’t too old as well. This addresses 80 privacy and security-related issues to offer seamless performance.

Moreover, the Korean company is expanding the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Android 13 One UI 5.0 update to the US carrier-unlocked models with build version N981U1UEU3GVK5 and N986U1UEU3GVK5, sequentially.

Android 13 One UI 5.0 features:

Samsung’s Android 13 and One UI 5.0 update unlocks 16 Color Palettes to offer more personalized themes, Lockdown mode for privacy enhancements, new swipe gestures for easier multitasking, and Stack widgets to let you create a group of widgets with ease.

It further brings a Smart test extraction feature to let you copy text from images, Notification permission, Per-app languages, and three new menus to the Settings app – Connected devices, Modes and Routines, and Security and Privacy.

It further brings new features for the Camera app -Picture watermark, Help guide in Pro mode, Historogram, and others. The Gallery app, Edge Panels, Good Lock, Notes app, Samsung Internet, and many other apps are also getting notable changes.

Additionally, there are various advanced lock screen customization options and tweaks to the quick settings panel, notification panel, recent menu, app icons, and other compartments.
